Akiane Kramarik’s paintings have sold for up to $1 million. She has been a guest of the Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, and Good Morning America. Her two bestselling books are “Akiane: Her Life, Her Art, Her Poetry” and “My Dream Is Bigger Than I - Memories of Tomorrow”. Although she has quite an impressive resume under her belt, you might be surprised to learn she’s still a child.
Akiane has been drawing since age four, painting since age six, and writing poetry since age seven. She has been featured in the United States, Canada, Singapore and England, and she is a member of both the Kids’ Hall of Fame and the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children.
What makes Akiane different from other children? How did she get started? She says the difference is visions from God. She wasn’t born into a religious family, but as a small child, these “visions from God” began appearing in her mind. At first, she told no one. Instead, she drew what she saw.
Not only did Akiane see these visions, she believed she lived them. It’s as if her very being was in two places at the same time. She told her mother it was the reason she painted “Eternity”. She calls this feeling a “shared self” because she’s able to visualize herself in other places in a realistic way.
Inspiration can be found anywhere. Akiane finds it in the most unlikely of places: the feel of an animal’s fur, the scent of a flower, or the echoes of light dancing around objects during certain times of the day. Akiane paints what she sees and feels in such a way that the textures seem to pour from her paintbrush effortlessly.
To tell someone to “stop and smell the roses” is, of course, clich, but it’s exactly what Akiane Kramarik encourages people to do. She sees beauty everywhere and uses her talents to polish it for others to see in the same light, so she wants others to concentrate on doing the same. Anyone can learn to do this through their own talents whether it be art, writing, or music.
Each of Akiane’s paintings has a unique meaning behind them. She had a reason for painting each one. For example, “Hand of Destiny” shows a left hand grasping its chosen destiny while the right is moving around helplessly. We have to choose our own destinies. “The Quantum World” is only a microscopic piece of the world she sees, including the different dimensions of her world.
To Akiane, even colors have meaning. White is truth, pink is trust, and black is suffering. Every paint stroke and every poetic word has deep meaning - meaning beyond what most have thought. Akiane encourages us to look beyond the obvious and see the true beauty around us.

If you're new here, you may first want to get a copy of my information and resources jam packed handbook on your right. Thanks for visiting!
Starting off writing a book is easy and finishing is both a relief and a triumph, but there’s a long stretch in the middle where you can’t see either shore and you’re not even sure you’re heading the right way.
When writing a book, start by mentioning the essentials like the title of the book, author’s name and relevant publishing information. Start a preliminary, or draft, bibliography by listing on a separate sheet of paper all your sources. Note down the full title, author, place of publication, publisher, and date of publication for each source.
Choose just the most important things that happen to the main character. Choose a realistic time frame that you can stick to. Provide enough detail to arouse your reader’s interest, but do not retell the whole story. There will be no point in your reader buying the book if they already know how it ends, or which character commits the crime, and so on.
All professional writers get paid to write their books. They sell their books via proposals before they write the books. Proposals take relatively little time to go through; thus proposed reviewers are usually happy to take them. A manuscript, however, may take up to 20 hours to read closely and review, and many academics will not accept manuscripts for this reason.
Comment on the evidence that supports the research. Comments are closed, but you can leave a trackback. Comment on parts of particular interest, and point out anything that seems to give the book literary merit. Relate the book to larger issues.
Is a bibliography provided? Finally the sample chapters demonstrate your ability to write, and they give an editor a sample of your style. If you are writing a review, be careful not to give away important plot details or the ending.
